While strides have been made with regard to racism it looks like sexism is alive and thriving in this country. And, NO I am not one of the Now/Nag chicks. But come on now let's be fair about this report on Palin. First of all let's hear the names of the aides that made these allegations. Without naming names these reports are just that, allegations. Secondly let's hear from the Obama, Biden and McCain aides about the behind the scene gossip on these 3 men. Like Obama saying he has traveled to all 57 states. Or that he thought a bunch of government scientists were the first to invent the computer. Oops, forgot can't go there, he's a man. Just like there was no reporting on how much money was spent on the male candidates clothing, just the cost of Palins wardrobe. With regard to Fox News reporting this "story" perhaps they are auditioning for a job at CNN or MSNBC in fear that the new administration will reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine and that they and conservative talk radio will be removed from the airwaves. After all just the other day Chuckie Schumer said that conservative talk radio was pornographic. A doozy of a comment. You betcha'.

Susan-
What would Palin have to do or say for you to be critical? These comments came from the McCain campaign! What motivation would they have to lie? They are on the same political team as Palin and work for Republicans. She DID NOT KNOW WHAT COUNTRIES WERE IN NAFTA! SHE DID NOT KNOW THAT AFRICA WAS A CONTINENT! Obama made a verbal slip (57) states that he corrected the next instant. Too blame this on sexism is just insane. If it is sexism it is coming from your own party so you must be ashamed of the Republican party. BTW why has this alleged "sexism" not hurt Olympia Snow, Kay Hutchinson, Condi Rice etc? Oh yeah, they are all INTELLIGENT AND QUALIFIED! Palin was the biggest mistake in the history of V.P. picks and it is all the fault of McCain!

Matt:

You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. Do you believe EVERYTHING you hear and read about a person??? Do you investigate allegations? Do you not find it odd that no names were mentioned as to who the aides were that were saying these thing's about Palin? Your comment that they are all Republicans and work on the same team is partly true. The Republican party is very split right now. Their are more moderate and more liberal Republicans that have been coming into the party. The Reagan conservatives are few and far between. Palin was more of a Reagan conservative and there are alot in the party that don't want to go that route anymore. Therefore it would not be surprising if these aides didn't like have a Reagan type such as Palin on the ticket and that is why they are saying these thing's about her. Just a thought.

Palin is Governor of Alaska. You don't get there by being dumb unless you have a ton of dough and can BUY an election. I find it extremely offensive that you continue to bash Palin. After all McCain/Palin got 46% of the votes and Obama got 52%. Without Palin on the ticket MCcCain would not of even reached 40%. As far as the biggest mistake in the pick of a V.P. in history being Palin I disagree. That distinction, in my opinion belongs to Andrew Johnson.

Love ya and have a great trip to Catalina. Love ya, Susan

Susan-

Fact: 59% of people felt Palin was not qualified to be President. She had the highest negatives of a first time v.p. candidate in history.

Point 2-
You said "you find it extremely offensive that I continue to bash Palin." Yet in your previous post you bash Obama and Senator Chuck Shumer. On my blog you have bashed Obama, Biden, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi. If bashing politicians is so "offensive" to you than why did you do it in a previous post and on my blog? Oh, I get it, you are only "offended" when I bash Republicans. Can you say hypocrisy?

P.S. Now you don't trust Fox News?

Sailing Vessel Serenity NOW said...

What 59% of the people were polled?
A 100% of the Nespor household voted for her. What poll/polls are you referring to with regard to Palin having the highest negatives of a first time V.P. or any V.P. for that matter.

Are we going to back in history to see who bashed who the most????
Where or where did I bash Obama in my last post??? As far as Chuckie Shumer anyone that says that conservative talk radio is pornographic deserves to be bashed.
What an insane and unintelligent comment from him. If I feel a Republican deserves to be bashed I have no problem doing it. However I take offense to people like Sarah Palin being bashed. Much like you blasted me about a year ago when I dared to blast Obama.

As far as Fox I certainly still trust them. They, even with the hiccups are the only fare and balanced news channel on the air. love ya, Susan

Since you brought it up, I will repeat once again that I was offended by in regards to Obama. I was offended when you childishly changed Obama's name and called him Osama. I feel that it is legitimate to be offended considering Osama murdered a personal friend of mine and both Garrett and I attended his funeral. What have I said that offend you about Palin? Does it offend you when I said she was stupid? Well guest what, she is.

dole2obama said...

Susan-
It took me a second but I fact-checked it for you. According to the NBC/WALL STREET JOURNAL Poll 59% of likely voters had a negative impression of Palin. The highest ever for a first time V.P. since they started polling in 1948 election. Not sure why you would think McCain would only get 40% without her. Curious to see your data on that one. BTW why would the McCain team be so quick to bury her if she was an asset to the ticket?

Garrett said...

Susan--According to a FOX NEWS!! poll 67 percent of people said they would be uncomfortable if Palin were to become president. I am careful to only cite FOX NEWS because if it was from any other source you would immediately dismiss it as invalid and part of the "liberal media elite" (This is different than the poll Matt cited)

Forgot...here is the direct link...this poll was the final November 3 poll

Good thing you still trust Fox News!

First, I lost two plane loads of flight attendants and pilot's on 911. So please don't act like you were the only one that lost friends on that day.

Secondly, I realized that you were offended by the Obama and Osama comment made by me. As you know I have not repeated that to you again.

To be quite honest with you I do not put much credence in polls. The polls of this election were all over the board and therefore not reliable.

I can say that McCain would have been "toast" without Palin on the ticket. I know a ton of people who were not excited about McCain until Palin came on board including yours truly and Dennis. She energized the ticket beyond belief.

Am I offended when you call Palin stupid...............you betcha'. I feel an air of intellectual eliteism. love ya, Susan

dole2obama said...

Susan- You have to argue the argument. I told you why I was offended, you said "I was acting like I was the only one who lost a friend." So, once again, what have I said that offended you. If you are an adult and you don't know what country compromises NAFTA and you do not know Africa is a continent than you are stupid. That is not slander or bashing, that is a fact. Also every time I bring up Chris Laebry, who I attended Malaga Cove with, played football with, went to high-school with, and attended his funeral you reference your fellow AA employees. I spent over seven years with Chris in school and Troy Berry, our neighbor, was his best friend. He was continually on my street as I grew up. I was unaware you knew anyone personally as I do not recall you attending a funeral. If you did, I am sorry for your loss, but if not, you equating the loss of my friend to people you did not know personally is a cheap stunt. Just as claiming I was acting like I was the only one who suffered a loss is a low blow.
BTW If requiring the V.P. to have a second-grade grasp of civics than call me an intellectual elitist!

Garrett:

As I stated in my earlier post I think that Fox News is the only News outlet that truly is fair and balanced. However I truly believe that with the new administration they are truly concerned about the possibility of the reinstitution of the Fairness Doctrine and may just be trying to save their behind's. So your thinking that I only listen and believe Fox News isn't completely accurate. Love ya, Susan

P.S. Why was Bretts post deleted???

Garrett said...

I don't know why Brett deleted his post...when it says "removed by author" it means that the person who commented removed it.

I don't delete people's comments.

Sailing Vessel Serenity NOW said...

I know that. I was just curious as to why people delete their comments. So how say you Brett?

Matt:

I did in fact know one of the flight attendants on flight 11 out of Boston. Unfortunately she was one of the flight attendants that had her throat slit by the terrorists. While I didn't know her as long and wasn't as close as you were to your friend she was still a friend. And I did attend the memorial in Costa Mesa that was held for all of the crew members that perished that day.

I still and always will take offense to your calling Palin stupid. And will ask you once again if she is so stupid how did she get elected to be the Gov. of Alaska? Joe Biden who has spent 3 decades in the Senate and spoke wrongly about the roll of the V.P. and the Constitution..........so does that make him stupid?? I guess it just gets down to what ones definition is of stupid. In my book Palin does not fit in that category. EOM Love ya, Susan

P.S. Will look forward to more lively debates on your return from Catalina.

There is a difference between "stupid" and ignorant. There are some very bright people that are ignorant of many things. There are smart folks that are ignorant of things around them because they do not attempt to open their eyes to those things. When I hear President Bush say he does not read newspapers and so forth, he opens himself up to lacking much knowledge of things that are going on. But i really dont think he is an idiot.
Some rich folks that are sharp as a tack that isolate themselves can be ignorant of what the poor go through in life, but they are not dumb.
Sarah Palin, ignorant yes. Stupid I dont think so, but not knowing Africa is a continent is perplexing to me. Is she why John Mccain lost?? No! He was a bad candidate. Palin provided the only brief bit of excitment in the campaign for the GOP. He made bad decisions from playing Mr. nice guy to Obama. He chose a bad VP, that was his fault, not hers. He was boring, old and irrelevent. He basically told undecideds that Obama would be a great president, they just have fundemental differences of opinion. While Obama made his case for why (he believed) he would be better than McCain. Confidence goes far with voters. Mccain had none througout. I think the McCain camp knew early that they would not win and picked Palin so they have a scapegoat.
